NEWS RELEASE: NOVEMBER 17, 2010: TWO REPS SHOWS

Music is high on the agenda at Harare's Reps Theatre this week, with two shows featuring a range of musical styles and performers.

In Theatre Upstairs, two talented young Zimbabwean singer-songwriter-musicians present a show called Ryan and Christessa Unplugged. They are Ryan Koriya, who recently returned home after spending several years in the UK, and Christessa Duff-Smith, who was one of the winners of the recent Harare's Got Talent show series.

The show features a selection of songs by the pair as solos or duets, with guest performers coming in each evening to add to the variety on offer. It runs until Saturday November 20, with performances at 7pm each evening.

On the Reps Main Stage, a fundraising variety show called That's Entertainment! is being staged by Reps and the Dance Trust of Zimbabwe, with proceeds going to both bodies to help with upgrading of Reps and the Ballet Centre. The show features music, dance and comedy, including performances by Josh Ansley, Patrick Barrett, Innocent Museve and Faith Ganyau, as well as by Kirby Chipembere, who won the most recent Harare's Got Talent show.

Dance numbers are being staged by dance groups from within the Dance Trust of Zimbabwe 'family' and comedy routines are being presented by Fraser Flight and Aidan Dawson - who also featured highly in the Harare's Got Talent series - and by a group from the popular Impro Show presenters.

"This will be a fun show with appeal to audiences of all ages and we hope for a good turnout to help us raise money to upgrade Reps and the Ballet Centre," said Eve Stranix, director of the production.

That's Entertainment has only two performances - 7pm on Friday November 19 and 2.30pm on Saturday November 20. Booking for both shows is now open at The Spotlight.
