NEWS RELEASE JULY 7 2008 TREATS ONE

A love triangle is the focus of the current production at Harare's Reps Theatre, presented by Theory X and directed by Zane E Lucas.

In Treats, by Christopher Hampton, a man returns from travelling to find his girlfriend has a new lover and in the enclosed, insulated world of a flat suburban flat the results of this are played out. Hampton is a well-known playwright and had great international success with Dangerous Liaisons, which became an acclaimed motion picture as well as stage success in London's West End and on Broadway.

The play stars Thea Cutler, Greg Mizon and Boris Chitombo and runs for only six performances at Reps' Theatre Upstairs, with a preview on Monday July 7 and other performances from Tuesday July 8 to Saturday July 12 (7pm each night). Booking is now open at The Spotlight (open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 12 noon). Special ticket prices apply for the preview night and for pensioners throughout the run.

Zane E Lucas is an award-winning actor and director, whose role in Over The Edge and Theory X have made him a household name in Zimbabwean theatre. Thea Cutler was seen in last year's Reps production of Brush Up Your Shakespeare, while Greg Mizon was most recently seen in the one-act dramas that ran in Theatre Upstairs. Boris Chitombo is one of the current group of Theory X students, working under Lucas' guidance to learn more about theatre and acting and to appear in local productions.
